Solo mining pays the whole block reward, but only when you find a block. The time between blocks is an average and varies a lot.
P2Pool has no pool fee and pays straight to your wallet inside each Monero block. Payouts come in small, frequent amounts. The totals match pool mining without the fee.

How the numbers are calculated
- Monero aims for one block every 120 seconds, so there are 720 blocks a day. The network hashrate is the difficulty divided by 120.
- Your expected XMR per day is your hashrate divided by the network hashrate, times 720 blocks, times the average block reward, minus the pool fee.
- The block reward is the 0.6 XMR tail emission plus transaction fees. Monero has no halving, so the tail emission stays at 0.6 XMR per block.
- Mined XMR can be spent after 60 blocks, about 2 hours.
- Electricity is watts times 24 hours, divided by 1,000, times your price per kWh.
Results are averages. Luck, pool payouts, stale shares and changes in difficulty make real earnings go up and down.
Pool, P2Pool or solo
- Pool
- The pool combines hashrate from many miners and pays out once your balance reaches its payout threshold. Most pools take a fee of around 0 to 1%.
- P2Pool
- A decentralized pool that runs next to your own Monero node. No fee, no account, and payouts arrive directly in your wallet inside Monero blocks.
- Solo
- You keep the whole block reward when you find a block. With a small hashrate, that can take months or years.
What to do with mined XMR
- Keep it in a wallet you control. Our wallet guide shows how to set one up and back up the seed. Monero wallet guide.
- Swap part of it to BTC or USDT when you need to pay for power or hardware. No account needed, and the coins go straight to your address. XMR to BTC · XMR to USDT
- Set your pool payout threshold high enough that each payout is above the smallest swap amount.
Questions about Monero mining
Is Monero mining profitable in 2026?
It depends on your hashrate, your power price and the XMR rate. Enter your CPU and electricity price above: the net line shows what is left after power. Many people mine on hardware they already own, where the power cost is the only cost.
Can I mine Monero with a GPU or an ASIC?
Monero uses the RandomX algorithm, which is designed for general purpose CPUs. GPUs are much less efficient on it and there are no RandomX ASICs. A modern desktop CPU is the usual choice.
How much XMR does one block pay?
The tail emission of 0.6 XMR plus the fees of the transactions in the block. The calculator uses the average over the last 720 blocks, about one day.
Why does my pool pay less than the calculator shows?
Pool fees, luck, stale shares and changes in difficulty. Over weeks, a pool without extra fees should come close to the estimate. Check that the hashrate you enter is the hashrate the pool sees.
How long until I can spend mined XMR?
Mined outputs unlock after 60 blocks, about 2 hours. Pools add their own payout threshold and schedule on top of that.
Where does the network data come from?
We read the height, difficulty and recent block rewards from several public Monero nodes every 10 minutes and use the value most of them agree on. The hourly history is open data.
Can I get my mining earnings in Bitcoin or USDT?
Mine to your own Monero wallet, then swap the XMR to BTC or USDT with no account. The box above shows what your monthly XMR would swap into at the current rate.
