No account and no ID to start. Some swaps are held for checks, and residents of some countries may be asked to verify. How screening works
Before you swap
The USDT payout is public on Tron from the moment it arrives, so choose the receiving address with that in mind. If you send with Send all, the Monero fee comes out of the deposit. Our liquidity partner keeps your XMR until the USDT payout is on its way. Checks can hold a swap, and on a floating quote the USDT amount can shift until the XMR deposit confirms.

Why people swap Monero to Tether on Tron
A dollar token instead of XMR
This route suits XMR holders who want part of their balance in a token meant to keep a US dollar value. Tether, the issuer, stands behind that value, and it can freeze tokens, as our Tether (USDT) coin page explains. The Tron network only records who holds them. Choose Tron as the payout network when the wallet or service you use next accepts USDT on Tron.
What Tron shows to everyone
Your privacy changes at the moment of the payout. Unlike Monero, which is private by default, USDT on Tron has no privacy layer. Anyone can open an explorer such as TRONSCAN and read the payout, your USDT balance and each later transfer from that address. A Tron address with no past activity keeps the payout apart from transfers that people already link to you.
A new address has one catch. Receiving USDT does not activate it, and moving the USDT on needs TRX, as our USDT network guide explains. That TRX arrives in a public transfer too. If it comes from an address people link to you, the chain ties the two addresses together.
Sending the XMR and waiting for the payout
In the official Monero GUI wallet, the node and wallet must be synced before you can send. To swap everything at once, the GUI wallet has a Send all button. It creates one transaction with the whole unlocked balance of the selected account. The network fee is paid out of that balance, so the deposit is a little less than the balance you saw. A fixed quote expects the exact amount shown, so plan for the fee or choose a floating quote.
Your XMR then sits with our liquidity partner until the USDT payout leaves. How many Monero confirmations count is the partner’s call, and the order page shows where the swap stands. A check may hold the swap before any USDT is paid, and Risk and screening explains the process. On a floating quote, the payout amount is not final before the XMR deposit confirms. The reverse route is USDT (TRC-20) to XMR.
Sending XMR and receiving USDT (TRC-20)
Sending XMR (Monero)
Send XMR from your Monero wallet to the deposit address of your order, in one transaction. Your wallet must be fully synced and have enough unlocked balance. A Monero transaction cannot be reversed once it is in a block, so check the address first.
- Copy and paste the deposit address. A Monero address has 95 or 106 characters. Compare the first and last characters before you confirm.
- The receiver of a Monero payment cannot see the address it came from. A refund needs an address from you, so add a refund address you control. This matters most when you send from an exchange account.
Receiving USDT (TRC-20)
You receive USDT (TRC-20) at a Tron address that starts with T. Use an address from a wallet that shows Tron tokens. Tron transfers have no memo field, so none is needed. The sender pays the transfer cost, so you need no TRX to receive USDT. You will need TRX to send it later.
- Give a Tron address that you control. Check that it starts with T and has 34 characters.
- If the payout shows on Tronscan but not in your wallet, check that your wallet shows TRC-20 tokens and lists USDT with the contract Tether publishes.
XMR to USDT (TRC-20) questions
Questions about Monero itself, such as legality and delistings, are answered in our Monero (XMR) coin guide
Why convert XMR to USDT instead of to Bitcoin?
Tether pegs USDT to the US dollar, so its value is meant to stay steady. Bitcoin has no peg, and its price moves with the market. Both coins land on public chains. Pick the one that the wallet or service you use next accepts. For Bitcoin, use the Monero to Bitcoin page.
Will my USDT on Tron be as private as my XMR?
No. Tron is a public chain. Anyone can open an explorer such as TRONSCAN and look up its transactions and accounts. From the moment the USDT reaches your Tron address, its balance and every later transfer are open to view.
Is a brand new Tron address a good choice for the payout?
For privacy, yes. A new address keeps the payout apart from transfers already linked to you. It has one catch. Receiving USDT does not activate a Tron address, and moving the USDT on needs TRX. That TRX transfer is public too, so sending it from an address linked to you ties the two addresses together.
If I use Send all, who pays the Monero network fee?
The fee comes out of the balance you send. Send all puts the whole unlocked balance of the account into one transaction, so the deposit is that balance minus the fee. A fixed quote expects the exact amount shown, so plan for the fee or choose a floating quote.
Can I swap XMR to USDT without KYC?
You need no account, name, email or ID to start this swap. You give a Tron address and send XMR. Every deposit is screened, though, and a swap can be held until the sender passes a check. The Risk and screening page covers holds.
Can I get USDT on Ethereum instead?
Here the payout is always on Tron. Pick USDT on Ethereum in the widget if you need an ERC-20 payout. That payout goes to a 0x address, and moving it later costs gas in ETH. Read our USDT network guide before you choose.
