Why people swap Tether on Tron to Ethereum
From a dollar token to the coin that runs Ethereum
Many people hold USDT on Tron because they were paid in it, or because their exchange withdraws USDT there. USDT is a token that Tether pegs to the US dollar. ETH is the native coin of Ethereum, and its price moves with the market.
People make this swap for two reasons. Some want part of their savings in ETH. Others need ETH to use Ethereum at all, because every transaction on Ethereum pays its gas in ETH, token transfers and app use included. A wallet that holds only tokens cannot move them. This page does not tell you which coin to hold. If you want a dollar value on Ethereum instead, pick USDT (ERC-20) as the coin you get, and our guide to both USDT networks explains the difference.
Leaving Tron
The deposit address on your order is a Tron address. It starts with T and takes USDT from the one contract Tether lists for Tron. USDT that sits on Ethereum, at a 0x address, cannot pay this deposit. For that, pick USDT (ERC-20) as the coin you send.
The Tron transfer pays its network cost in energy and bandwidth, not in USDT. A wallet of your own needs TRX or energy for it, or the transfer fails. If your USDT is on an exchange account, withdraw it to your own wallet first, because the swap form asks for the address you send from. Getting ETH on mainnet
Paste the full 0x address from the receive screen of a wallet you control. A name that ends in .eth is not accepted. The payout is native ETH on Ethereum mainnet. A layer 2 network shows the same 0x address, but its balance is separate, so switch your wallet to mainnet if the ETH does not show. Between the deposit and the payout, your USDT is no longer in your wallet. It waits at the deposit address of your order until the ETH is sent. On a floating quote, the ETH amount is set only once your deposit confirms. If a swap cannot finish, the refund is USDT on Tron, and it goes to the Tron address the USDT came from.

Send USDT on the Tron network only. Your wallet or exchange must show Tron or TRC-20 as the network. The sending address also needs TRX, because Tron charges for token transfers in energy and bandwidth, not in USDT.
- Pick Tron (TRC-20) in your wallet or in the exchange withdrawal form. USDT sent on another network does not reach a Tron deposit address.
- Keep some TRX in the sending address. A USDT transfer uses energy, and energy has no free quota. Without energy or TRX to burn, the transfer cannot be paid.
Receiving ETH (Ethereum)
Give an Ethereum address that you control. It starts with 0x and has 42 characters. ETH arrives on Ethereum mainnet only. Your wallet must show Ethereum mainnet to see it.
- Paste the full 0x address. The form does not take names that end in .eth.
- If the ETH does not show yet, switch your wallet to Ethereum mainnet. Then look up your address on a block explorer.

How do I swap USDT to ETH?
Choose USDT (TRC-20) as the coin you send and ETH as the coin you get. Enter the 0x address of your own Ethereum wallet and the Tron address you send from. Can I swap USDT to ETH without KYC?

My USDT is already on Ethereum. Can I send it to this deposit address?
No. This deposit address is on Tron and takes only USDT on Tron. USDT sent from Ethereum or any other network does not arrive here, and a return is not guaranteed. Pick USDT (ERC-20) as the coin you send in the swap form instead. That order gives you a 0x deposit address, and that transfer pays its gas in ETH.

No. The payout is native ETH on Ethereum mainnet. A layer 2 network shows the same 0x address, but it is a separate network with its own balance. If the ETH does not show, switch your wallet to Ethereum mainnet and look up your address on a block explorer.
Can I paste an ENS name such as name.eth?
No. The form takes the full 0x address of 42 characters, not a name that ends in .eth. Copy the address from the receive screen of your wallet and check the first and last characters after you paste it.
Why get ETH and not USDT on Ethereum?
Every transaction on Ethereum pays its gas in ETH, including token transfers and app use. A wallet that holds only USDT on Ethereum cannot move it. ETH covers that cost. If you want to keep a dollar value on Ethereum, pick USDT (ERC-20) as the coin you get, and keep some ETH next to it for gas.
How long does a USDT to ETH swap take?
The Tron side is usually short. A Tron block comes about every 3 seconds and is final after about a minute, and the deposit is credited once it has enough confirmations. Ethereum can add a block every 12 seconds and a block is final after about 15 minutes. Your order page shows each step.
Is the ETH amount fixed when I start the order?
Only on a fixed quote, and only for the exact amount shown, sent before the deadline on your order page. On a floating quote, the ETH amount follows the market until your deposit confirms. The payout fee in ETH is shown before you swap.
