Before you swap
Check that your USDT is on Tron before you send. The deposit address starts with T, and USDT sent on Ethereum or any other network does not reach it. The sending address needs TRX or energy for the transfer. When the Tron deposit is credited, the BTC goes to your Bitcoin address.

Why people swap Tether on Tron to Bitcoin
From a token with an issuer to a coin without one
USDT is a token that Tether issues and pegs to the US dollar. Tether’s terms let it freeze tokens and blacklist an address that holds them, as our Tether (USDT) coin page explains. Bitcoin has no issuer at all.
People make this swap when they were paid in USDT on Tron and want to keep part of it as bitcoin, or when they want savings in a coin that no single company runs. The trade works the other way too. A BTC balance moves with the market, while USDT is meant to hold a dollar value. This page does not tell you which one to hold.
Only USDT on Tron goes in
The deposit address on your order is a Tron address. It starts with T and takes USDT from the one contract Tether lists for Tron. Exchange accounts often offer USDT on several networks, and wallets can hold USDT on Ethereum at a 0x address. USDT sent on any network other than Tron does not reach this swap. Such a deposit is not processed automatically, and a return is not guaranteed. If your USDT sits on Ethereum, pick USDT (ERC-20) as the coin you send instead. Our guide to both USDT networks shows how to tell which one you hold.
The Tron transfer pays its network cost in energy and bandwidth, not in USDT, so a wallet of your own needs TRX or energy for it. Real USDT matters as well. A token from another contract can carry the same name, and it is not USDT.
The quick chain goes first
Tron adds a block about every 3 seconds, and a block is usually final after about a minute. Your order page shows when the USDT deposit has enough confirmations to be credited. The BTC payout then joins the Bitcoin network, where blocks come about every 10 minutes on average, at random gaps. Your wallet can show the payment as unconfirmed at first.
Use a new Bitcoin receive address for this swap. Every Bitcoin payment is public, and a reused address ties your payments together. Between the deposit and the BTC payout, your USDT is no longer in your wallet. On a floating quote, the BTC amount is set only once your deposit confirms. If a swap cannot finish, the refund is USDT on Tron, and it goes to the Tron address the USDT came from.
Sending USDT (TRC-20) and receiving BTC
Sending USDT (TRC-20)
Send USDT on the Tron network only. Your wallet or exchange must show Tron or TRC-20 as the network. The sending address also needs TRX, because Tron charges for token transfers in energy and bandwidth, not in USDT.
- Pick Tron (TRC-20) in your wallet or in the exchange withdrawal form. USDT sent on another network does not reach a Tron deposit address.
- Send real USDT. The token in your wallet must use the contract Tether lists for Tron. A token called USDT from any other contract is not USDT.
Receiving BTC (Bitcoin)
Give a Bitcoin address from a wallet you control. It can start with 1, 3, bc1q or bc1p. A BTC payout does not use a memo or tag, so the address is all you need. Your BTC arrives on the Bitcoin network only.
- Use a new receive address for each swap. A reused address links your payments together on the public ledger.
- If you receive to an exchange account, check that its deposit page says BTC on the Bitcoin network. No memo or tag is needed.
USDT (TRC-20) to BTC questions
How do I swap USDT to BTC?
Choose USDT (TRC-20) as the coin you send and BTC as the coin you get. Enter a Bitcoin address from your own wallet and the Tron address you send from. Then send the USDT on the Tron network to the deposit address on your order page, in one transfer. The BTC is sent once your deposit is credited.
Can I convert USDT to BTC without KYC?
Yes. You can start this swap with no account, no email and no ID. With no profile to sign in to, the link to your order page is how you get back to your swap, so save it when the order opens.
My USDT is on Ethereum. Can I send it to this deposit address?
No. This deposit address is on Tron and takes only USDT on Tron. USDT sent from Ethereum or any other network does not arrive here, and a return is not guaranteed. Pick USDT (ERC-20) as the coin you send in the swap form instead. That order gives you a 0x deposit address, and the transfer pays its gas in ETH.

What if I already sent the USDT on the wrong network?
Contact support with your order ID and the transaction ID. A deposit made on the wrong network is not processed automatically. Recovery is sometimes possible but not guaranteed, and when it is possible, our Terms set out a recovery fee. Do not send a second deposit to the same order.
How can I tell that my USDT is real before I swap it?
Open a transfer of it on Tronscan and look at the token contract. Real USDT on Tron comes from TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t, the contract Tether lists. Any contract can call its token USDT, so the name in your wallet proves nothing. A token from another contract is not USDT.
How long does a USDT to BTC swap take?
The Tron side is usually short. A Tron block comes about every 3 seconds and is final after about a minute, and the deposit is credited once it has enough confirmations. The BTC payout then waits for Bitcoin blocks, which come about every 10 minutes on average. Your order page shows each step.
Is the BTC amount fixed when I start the order?
Only on a fixed quote, and only for the exact amount shown, sent before the deadline on your order page. On a floating quote, the BTC amount follows the market until your deposit confirms. The payout fee in BTC is shown before you swap.
Should I use a new Bitcoin address for each USDT to BTC swap?
Yes. Bitcoin payments are public, and paying several swaps to one address links them together for anyone who looks. Ask your wallet for a new receive address, copy it from the receive screen, and check the whole address after you paste it.
