HiddenSwap is our own service. We list it first; the rest are listed in no particular order and we make no money from them.

The short answer

The main no-KYC ways to get or swap Monero (XMR) in 2026 are:

  • swap services, where you send one coin and get another with no account: HiddenSwap, FixedFloat, SideShift, Exolix, Godex, StealthEX and SimpleSwap;
  • an aggregator that shows offers from several swap services on one page: Trocador;
  • peer-to-peer apps that match you with another person: Haveno networks such as RetoSwap, and Bisq;
  • atomic swap software that trades BTC for XMR with no company in the middle: eigenwallet (formerly UnstoppableSwap) and BasicSwap DEX.

No one of them wins on every point. A swap service is quick to use, but it holds your deposit until your new coins are sent. P2P apps and atomic swaps keep a company out of the trade, but ask for more setup and patience. The table shows the differences we could confirm from each service’s own pages. Where a service does not say, we write “not stated”.

Fees, minimums and rates change all the time, so this table leaves them out. Each service shows its own numbers before you send.

The services one by one

HiddenSwap

HiddenSwap is a swap service for crypto-to-crypto swaps only, Monero first. You need no account, no email and no ID. You get an order ID. The trade-offs are real: your deposit goes to an address the service controls and stays out of your hands until your new coins are sent. A swap can be stopped and refunded instead of finished, and a floating quote can change before your deposit confirms. The refunds page explains when and where coins go back. The site has no onion address yet, but it works in Tor Browser with JavaScript off.

Trocador

Trocador is an aggregator. It shows quotes from several swap services and gives each of them a privacy rating, based on their terms, their privacy policy and their past record on Trocador. The swap itself is run by the exchange you pick, so a problem is solved with that exchange, and Trocador says a refund can take a week or longer. It has an onion site and needs no account. It also runs AnonPay, a payment link and donation tool that accepts many coins. Our Trocador alternatives page looks at it in more detail.

FixedFloat

FixedFloat (ff.io) is a swap service with a fixed rate and a floating rate. If your deposit arrives late, with a different amount, or after a large market move, the order page lets you continue at the market rate or take a refund minus the network fee. It also swaps from Bitcoin Lightning to XMR.

SideShift

SideShift (sideshift.ai) needs no sign-up, but it makes an account ID and key in each new browser. A fixed-rate shift expires if the deposit is not sent in time, and the deposit is refunded. A variable-rate shift sets the rate when your deposit is seen. You can give a refund address, or the order page asks for one when a refund is needed.

Exolix

Exolix calls itself a cross-chain swap aggregator. You swap without registering, with a fixed rate that is locked for a set time or a floating rate. Its FAQ says a swap stopped by an error in its own system is refunded in full.

Godex

Godex asks for no account. Its fixed rate is locked for a set time from the moment you start the swap. Its terms say a refund is possible when the order shows “Overdue” and the funds have reached Godex, and that refund requests after 90 days are not accepted.

StealthEX

StealthEX swaps without registration. A padlock icon switches the form from floating to fixed, and a fixed rate gives you a short window to send. Its FAQ says a swap fails after a sharp rate move, and support then agrees a new rate or a refund with you.

SimpleSwap

SimpleSwap swaps without registration. A fixed rate is locked for a set time and has upper limits, and a floating rate has no strict time limit. If a fixed-rate deposit arrives late, you may be offered a refund or the swap at a new rate.

Haveno and RetoSwap

Haveno is open-source software for peer-to-peer trades, built on Monero and Tor. RetoSwap is a network that runs it. Trades use a 2-of-3 multisig wallet between the two traders and an arbitrator, and the arbitrator is called only in a dispute. In May and again in June 2026, RetoSwap suspended trading after exploits in the Haveno protocol. News reports put the May loss at about 7,000 XMR. Check the project’s own channels for its current state before you use it.

Bisq

Bisq is a desktop app for peer-to-peer trades, with no registration and no central server. It sends all traffic over Tor. XMR is one of its most active markets. Both traders lock a BTC security deposit in a 2-of-2 multisig until the trade ends. The side sending XMR needs a wallet that can show the transaction key, in case of a dispute.

Atomic swaps: eigenwallet and BasicSwap DEX

eigenwallet, formerly UnstoppableSwap, is a Monero and Bitcoin wallet with built-in atomic swaps from BTC to XMR. It runs over Tor. Its docs say swaps go one way today: you send BTC and get XMR. BasicSwap DEX is open-source software with a decentralized order book that also swaps XMR by atomic swap. Both rest on the same idea: if the swap does not complete, a timelock lets each side take its coins back. You need more setup, and you wait for confirmations on both chains.

How to choose

Ask four questions before you pick a service.

  1. Who holds your coins during the trade? On a swap service or through an aggregator, a company holds your deposit until the payout. On a P2P app, funds sit in a multisig that the traders and an arbitrator or mediator share. In an atomic swap, the protocol locks them.
  2. What happens if the swap cannot finish? Read the refund rules first. Always give a refund address from your own wallet. A Monero payment does not show where it came from, so an XMR refund has nowhere else to go.
  3. Can you use it over Tor? Some services have an onion site. Others work in Tor Browser on their normal domain. P2P and atomic swap apps run over Tor by design.
  4. How much are you swapping, and how fast? Swap services take a few clicks. P2P trades wait for another person. Atomic swaps need software for both chains. For a first try, send a small amount.

How a BTC to XMR swap works on HiddenSwap

  1. Make a new subaddress in your own Monero wallet.
  2. Open the Bitcoin to Monero exchange and choose a floating or a fixed rate.
  3. Paste your subaddress, and add a Bitcoin refund address from your own wallet.
  4. Send the exact amount in one transaction, and save your order ID.
  5. Follow the order page until your XMR is sent.

The swap box shows the current amount and limits before you send. Our step-by-step guide on how to swap BTC to XMR with no KYC covers each step and the checks to make. To go the other way, use the Monero to Bitcoin swap. The Monero coin page explains how Monero keeps payments private and which address types to use.

Safety tips

  • Type the domain yourself. Fake copies of swap sites exist, and look-alike domains show up in search results. Our official links page lists our real addresses.
  • Check onion addresses at the source. Copy an onion address only from the service’s own site or a directory you trust.
  • Never share your seed phrase. No real swap service asks for it, or for a payment to release a normal swap.
  • Use a directory to look further. kycnot.me lists many no-KYC services with notes from users. Read the notes and the service’s own terms together.
  • Keep your XMR in your own wallet. Exchanges keep dropping XMR. Our Monero delisting tracker lists the dates and sources.

Quick answers

What is the best no-KYC Monero exchange? There is no single best one. A swap service is the simplest. P2P and atomic swaps keep a company out of the trade but take more work. Pick by custody, refund rules and Tor access.

Where can I swap Monero without an account? On every service in the table. Swap services give you an order ID, and P2P and atomic swap apps run on your own computer.

Is a no-KYC Monero exchange safe? It depends on the service. Read its terms and refund rules, give a refund address, check the domain and start small.

Can I swap XMR to BTC with an atomic swap? eigenwallet says it offers BTC to XMR only for now. For XMR to BTC, use a swap service or a P2P app.

Does HiddenSwap have an onion site? Not yet. The site works in Tor Browser on its normal domain, also with JavaScript turned off.
