    Before you swap

If you withdraw the LTC from an exchange account, add a refund address from a Litecoin wallet you control. Without one, a refund goes back to the exchange's sending address and may not reach you. Your LTC goes to an address controlled by our liquidity partner until your XMR is sent.

What you get for common amounts

Our quotes, not guarantees. Recorded 17 Sep 2026, 18:30 UTC. The payout fee is already taken off. It depends on the network and can change with the amount, and it takes a bigger share of small swaps. Fixed and floating quotes are separate offers, and either can be higher.

    Monero to Litecoin exchange

Why people swap Litecoin to Monero

    Starting from an exchange balance

Some people keep Litecoin in an exchange account and want Monero in a wallet of their own. Swapping the LTC directly saves a stop in another coin.

Litecoin targets a new block every 2.5 minutes. Your deposit gets its first confirmation when a block includes it. Our liquidity partner sets how many it waits for, and the order page counts them. The time the exchange takes before it sends is part of your wait too, and a floating quote can move during all of it. If the order seems stuck, ask the exchange for the transaction ID of the withdrawal. A Litecoin block explorer then shows whether it has reached the network.

Two settings to get right before you withdraw

The first is the refund address. If a swap cannot finish, the coins go to your refund address. With none set, they go back to the address they came from. For a withdrawal, that address belongs to the exchange, and our Terms warn that such a refund may not reach you. So paste a refund address from a Litecoin wallet you control. Our Litecoin (LTC) coin page explains which address type to use.

The second is the amount. Some exchanges take their withdrawal fee out of the number you type, so less arrives than you entered. A fixed quote holds only for the exact amount shown, sent in one transaction before the deadline on your order page. Read the exchange’s confirmation screen for the amount it will really send.

    Coins held in MWEB

MWEB is Litecoin’s opt-in privacy layer, and its addresses start with ltcmweb1. Our Litecoin page compares it with Monero’s private-by-default design. For this swap, what matters is the route out. MWEB coins must be pegged out to the main chain before they can pay a regular deposit address. We have not confirmed how a deposit made straight from MWEB is handled. So use two steps. Peg out to a regular address in your own wallet, wait the 6 blocks before pegged-out coins can be spent, then send the deposit from there.

Our liquidity partner holds your LTC until the XMR payout is sent. Some swaps are held for checks, and Risk and screening covers why and what happens next.

    Sending LTC and receiving XMR

    Sending LTC (Litecoin)

Send native LTC on the Litecoin network from a wallet you control. Send the amount shown for your swap to the deposit address. The deposit goes to an address controlled by our liquidity partner until your new coins are sent.

    • Choose the Litecoin network. Some platforms also list an LTC token on another network. That token is not native LTC, and this swap takes native LTC only.
    • If you send from an exchange account, a refund to the sending address may not reach you. Give a refund address that you control.

    Receiving XMR (Monero)

Give a Monero address from a wallet you control. A subaddress starts with 8 and a standard address starts with 4. Both have 95 characters. Received XMR stays locked for 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes, before you can spend it.

    • Your wallet finds the payout by scanning new blocks with your private view key. If the XMR does not show yet, let the wallet finish syncing. If you restored the wallet, check that its restore height is not later than your swap.
    • New XMR shows in your total balance first. It moves to your unlocked balance after 10 confirmations.

    LTC to XMR questions

Questions about Monero itself, such as legality and delistings, are answered in our Monero (XMR) coin guide

Can I send LTC straight from an exchange account?

Yes, if the exchange lets you withdraw LTC on the Litecoin network. Paste the deposit address into its withdrawal form and send the amount in one withdrawal. Add a refund address from your own Litecoin wallet when you start the swap, because the exchange's sending address is not yours.

My exchange lists more than one network for LTC. Which do I pick?

Pick Litecoin. The deposit address of your order is on the Litecoin network, so a withdrawal sent on any other network does not reach it.

Why did less LTC arrive than I entered at the exchange?

Some exchanges take their withdrawal fee out of the amount you type, so the deposit is smaller than you planned. A fixed quote holds only for the exact amount shown. If the amount differs, the swap may run at the floating rate or be refunded minus network fees. Check what the exchange will send before you confirm.

The exchange says my withdrawal is complete. Why is the order still waiting?

An exchange may mark a withdrawal as complete once it has sent the transaction. The Litecoin network still has to confirm it. Find the transaction ID (TXID) in your withdrawal history and look it up on a Litecoin block explorer. If the exchange shows no transaction ID yet, the withdrawal has not reached the network.

How quickly does a Litecoin deposit confirm?

Litecoin targets a new block every 2.5 minutes on average. Our partner sets how many confirmations it needs before it credits your deposit, and the order page shows the progress. Any delay at the exchange before the withdrawal reaches the network adds to this.

What if my exchange withdrawal arrives after the fixed quote deadline?

A fixed quote holds only until the time shown on your order page. A late deposit may be swapped at the current rate, refunded, or need help from support, as our Terms explain. Check how long your exchange usually takes to send before you choose a fixed quote.
