XMR to LTC: swap Monero to Litecoin with no KYC
On , our floating quote for 1 XMR was 9.3509 LTC after a 0.0003 LTC payout fee.
Rate before the payout fee: 1 XMR ≈ 9.3512 LTC (our calculation from that quote).
No account and no ID to start. Some swaps are held for checks, and residents of some countries may be asked to verify. How screening works
Before you swap
Add a refund address from your own Monero wallet. A Monero deposit does not show where it came from, so the refund address is the only way back. Give a Litecoin payout address that starts with ltc1q, L or M. The form does not accept Taproot (ltc1p) or MWEB addresses.

Why people swap Monero to Litecoin
Litecoin as the destination
Litecoin’s address formats mirror Bitcoin’s. Its bech32 addresses start with ltc1 where Bitcoin’s start with bc1. The clear difference is block timing. Litecoin aims for one block every 2.5 minutes. Bitcoin aims for one every 10 minutes. So if you want to leave Monero for a Bitcoin-style coin with shorter gaps between blocks, Litecoin is a natural pick.
Litecoin also has an optional privacy layer called MWEB, but our address check does not accept MWEB addresses, which start with ltcmweb1. Receive the LTC at a standard address first. You can move it into MWEB later with a wallet that supports it. Our Litecoin (LTC) coin page explains MWEB and how it differs from Monero’s private-by-default design.
Set up the refund address first
A Monero payment does not reveal the address it came from. If the swap cannot finish, our partner has no return address to read from your deposit. The refund address you add in the swap form is how the XMR gets back to you.
Make it a fresh subaddress. Subaddresses start with 8, and your wallet derives all of them from its one seed. In the command line wallet, the address new command creates one and lets you add a label, such as the date of this swap. If XMR ever arrives there, your wallet shows which subaddress received it, so you know what the payment was for. Labels are lost if you restore the wallet from its seed, so keep your order ID too.
The 3 prefix trap
For the payout, give an address that starts with ltc1q, L or M. Litecoin still reads older addresses that start with 3. They use the same version byte as Bitcoin addresses that start with 3. That means a Bitcoin address pasted by mistake can pass as a Litecoin address. If yours starts with 3, check that it came from your Litecoin wallet.
While the swap runs, your XMR sits with our liquidity partner. A screening check can stop it for a while, as Risk and screening explains. If you chose a floating quote, the LTC you get is known only once your XMR deposit is confirmed.
Sending XMR and receiving LTC
Sending XMR (Monero)
Send XMR from your Monero wallet to the deposit address of your order, in one transaction. Your wallet must be fully synced and have enough unlocked balance. A Monero transaction cannot be reversed once it is in a block, so check the address first.
- Only unlocked XMR can be sent. XMR you received less than 10 blocks ago is still locked. That is about 20 minutes.
- Keep the transaction ID. Your wallet can also show the transaction key. The ID, the key and the deposit address together prove the payment.
Receiving LTC (Litecoin)
You receive LTC on the Litecoin network. Give a standard Litecoin address from a wallet you control. The payout is a normal transaction on the main chain, so any Litecoin wallet or block explorer can show it.
- Use an address that starts with ltc1q, L or M. Litecoin Core creates ltc1q addresses by default.
- Litecoin Core shows a payment as confirming until it has 6 confirmations. A new block comes about every 2.5 minutes, so this takes about 15 minutes on average.
XMR to LTC questions
Questions about Monero itself, such as legality and delistings, are answered in our Monero (XMR) coin guide
Which Litecoin address can I use for the payout?
Use a standard address from a Litecoin wallet you control. These start with ltc1q, L or M. The form does not accept Taproot (ltc1p) or MWEB addresses. Copy it from the wallet's receive screen instead of typing it.
My Litecoin address starts with 3. Is that a problem?
It can be valid. Litecoin still reads older addresses that start with 3. They use the same version byte as Bitcoin addresses that start with 3, so a Bitcoin address pasted by mistake also looks like a valid Litecoin address. Make sure it came from your Litecoin wallet, or use an ltc1 or M address.
Why must I add a refund address for an XMR deposit?
A Monero payment does not show the address it came from, so our partner cannot read a return address from your deposit. The refund address you give in the swap form is the only way back if the swap cannot finish.
Which Monero address should I give as the refund address?
A new subaddress from your own Monero wallet. Subaddresses start with 8, and your wallet can make as many as you need from one seed. If the swap form turns a subaddress down, use your standard address, which starts with 4.
How will I know a refund belongs to this swap?
Use a subaddress that you made only for this swap and give it a label. Your wallet shows which subaddress a payment arrived at. Labels are not kept if you restore the wallet from its seed, so keep your order ID as well.
Do I need a payment ID to send the XMR?
No. Send the XMR to the deposit address on your order page. You only need a separate ID if the order page shows one next to that address.
