Before you swap
Check the first character of each address. The payout address starts with T and comes from a Tron wallet. The sending address starts with ltc1q, L or M and comes from your Litecoin wallet. Once sent, the LTC waits at the deposit address of your order, outside your control, until the USDT goes out.

Why people swap Litecoin to Tether on Tron
Why Litecoin holders move into USDT
The Litecoin Foundation describes Litecoin as built for everyday use, such as payments. Some people get paid in LTC and then move part of it into USDT, a token that Tether pegs to the US dollar. After the swap, that part follows the dollar instead of the litecoin price. Others need USDT because the next person or app they pay asks for it. This page pays the USDT out on Tron, which fits when that next wallet accepts TRC-20.
The move has a cost of its own. LTC has no issuer. USDT does, and Tether’s terms let it freeze tokens and blacklist addresses, as our Tether (USDT) coin page explains. A steady value lasts only as long as the peg does.
Two kinds of address with 34 characters
This swap asks for an address on each chain. A Litecoin legacy address starts with L, a P2SH address starts with M, and both have 34 characters. A Tron address has 34 characters as well, and it starts with T. So the length tells you nothing. The first character tells you which chain the address belongs to.
The payout address must start with T and come from a wallet that shows Tron tokens. The sending address must come from your Litecoin wallet and start with ltc1q, L or M. Neither chain uses a memo or tag. If you would rather hold USDT at a 0x address on Ethereum, our guide to both USDT networks explains the difference before you pick.
Sending the LTC
Send native LTC on the Litecoin network. An LTC token listed on another network is not the same coin. If your LTC sits in MWEB, the optional layer described on our Litecoin (LTC) coin page, peg it out to a standard address in your own wallet first. Pegged-out coins can be spent after 6 confirmations. Use the normal fee setting, since Litecoin charges by transaction size, not by amount.
A Litecoin block comes about every 2.5 minutes. Tron is faster, with a block every 3 seconds. The slow part is the LTC deposit, and on a floating quote the USDT amount can move until it confirms. Once the USDT arrives, plan to add TRX to the Tron address before you move it on. If the swap cannot finish, the refund comes back as LTC to the address the coins came from.
Sending LTC and receiving USDT (TRC-20)
Sending LTC (Litecoin)
Send native LTC on the Litecoin network from a wallet you control. Send the amount shown for your swap to the deposit address made for your order. Your new coins are sent after the deposit is credited.
- Choose the Litecoin network. Some platforms also list an LTC token on another network. That token is not native LTC, and this swap takes native LTC only.
- If your coins are on an exchange account, withdraw to your own wallet first and send from there. The swap form needs the address you send from, and an exchange's address is not yours.
Receiving USDT (TRC-20)
You receive USDT (TRC-20) at a Tron address that starts with T. Use an address from a wallet that shows Tron tokens. Tron transfers have no memo field, so none is needed. The sender pays the transfer cost, so you need no TRX to receive USDT. You will need TRX to send it later.
- Give a Tron address that you control. Check that it starts with T and has 34 characters.
- Add some TRX to the receiving address if you plan to move the USDT later. A new Tron address becomes active when it receives TRX or a TRC-10 token. USDT is a TRC-20 token, so send TRX to the address as well.
LTC to USDT (TRC-20) questions
How do I convert LTC to USDT on Tron?
Choose LTC as the coin you send and USDT (TRC-20) as the coin you get. Paste a Tron address that starts with T for the payout, and the Litecoin address you send from. Then send native LTC on the Litecoin network, in one transaction, to the deposit address on your order page.
Can I convert Litecoin to USDT without KYC?
Yes. You need no account, email or ID. A Tron payout address and your LTC deposit are enough, and the order ID lets you follow each step. Swap records hold no name and no IP address.
My Litecoin address and my Tron address both have 34 characters. How do I tell them apart?
Look at the first character. Litecoin legacy addresses start with L and P2SH addresses start with M, and both have 34 characters. A Tron address has 34 characters too, but it always starts with T. The USDT payout needs the T address. The sending address needs the Litecoin one.
My exchange lists LTC on more than one network. Which one works here?
Only native LTC on the Litecoin network. Some platforms also list an LTC token on another network. That token is not native LTC, and a deposit made with it does not count for this swap. Withdraw native LTC to your own Litecoin wallet first, then send from there.
Where does a refund go if the swap cannot finish?
A refund is paid in LTC on the Litecoin network, never in USDT. It goes to the Litecoin address the coins came from. Your Tron address cannot receive it. If you sent from an exchange account, the refund would go to an address the exchange controls, so send from your own wallet.
How long does an LTC to USDT swap take?
A Litecoin block comes about every 2.5 minutes on average, and the deposit is credited once enough of them confirm it. The USDT payout then goes out on Tron, where a block comes every 3 seconds and is final after about one minute. Your order page shows each step.
Will I need TRX once the USDT arrives?
Not to receive it, because the sender pays for the payout. You need TRX to move the USDT later, since Tron charges for token transfers in energy and bandwidth. Your LTC cannot pay that fee. A new Tron address also becomes active only after it receives TRX or a TRC-10 token.
