Before you swap
Paste a Litecoin address that starts with ltc1q, L or M, not your Bitcoin address. Pick a Bitcoin fee rate that fits the network, because a slow deposit gives a floating quote more time to move. After you send, the BTC is no longer in your wallet. It waits at your order's deposit address until your LTC is sent.

Our quotes, not guarantees. Recorded 29 Oct 2026, 23:00 UTC. The payout fee is already taken off. It depends on the network and can change with the amount, and it takes a bigger share of small swaps. Fixed and floating quotes are separate offers, and either can be higher.

Why people swap Bitcoin to Litecoin
Why move part of your bitcoin to Litecoin
Litecoin is based on Bitcoin’s design, and many of its rules match. The main difference in daily use is time. Litecoin aims for a block about every 2.5 minutes, where Bitcoin aims for one every 10. Some people keep bitcoin for the long run and swap a part of it to LTC, to pay or be paid in a coin with shorter gaps between blocks. After the swap, that part follows the litecoin price.
Litecoin also offers MWEB, an optional layer where amounts are known only to the sender and the receiver. The payout from this swap cannot go straight into MWEB, but you can move it there later. Our Litecoin (LTC) coin page explains MWEB and what it hides.
The Bitcoin deposit sets the pace
In this direction, the long wait comes first. A Bitcoin block comes every 10 minutes on average, but the gaps vary a lot, and a deposit with a low fee rate can sit through many of them. On a floating quote, the LTC figure keeps moving until the deposit is credited. So pick a fee rate that fits the network when you send. Our Bitcoin (BTC) coin page explains what to do if a payment is stuck.
Once the LTC is sent, it moves in steps of about 2.5 minutes. Litecoin Core shows the payout as confirming until it has 6 confirmations, which takes about 15 minutes on average.
Give a Litecoin address, not a Bitcoin one
With both wallets open, it is easy to paste the wrong address. The payout needs a standard Litecoin address that starts with ltc1q, L or M. A bc1 Bitcoin address is not valid here. A Bitcoin address that starts with 3 is the harder case. Litecoin still accepts that old format, so it can pass the check, and your Bitcoin wallet does not show Litecoin, so the coins would not appear there.
If your BTC is on an exchange, withdraw it to your own wallet first and send from there. From the moment you send the BTC until the LTC goes out, you cannot move or spend it.
Sending BTC and receiving LTC
Sending BTC (Bitcoin)
Send native BTC on the Bitcoin network, in one transaction, to the deposit address of your order. Bitcoin payments cannot be reversed, so check the address before you confirm. The fee depends on the transaction size, not the amount.
- Choose a fee rate that fits the current demand for block space. With a low fee rate your deposit can wait a long time, and a floating quote can change while it waits.
- If the deposit is stuck, raise the fee with replace-by-fee if your wallet offers it, and keep the same deposit address and amount. CPFP works only if the stuck payment sent change back to your wallet. Do not send a second payment to the same order.
Receiving LTC (Litecoin)
You receive LTC on the Litecoin network. Give a standard Litecoin address from a wallet you control. The payout is a normal transaction on the main chain, so any Litecoin wallet or block explorer can show it.
- An old address that starts with 3 still works on Litecoin, but Bitcoin uses the same format. Make sure a 3 address came from your Litecoin wallet, or use an ltc1q or M address instead.
- Litecoin Core shows a payment as confirming until it has 6 confirmations. A new block comes about every 2.5 minutes, so this takes about 15 minutes on average.
BTC to LTC questions
How do I convert BTC to LTC?
Choose BTC as the coin you send and LTC as the coin you get. Paste a standard Litecoin address from your own wallet. Then send native BTC on the Bitcoin network to the deposit address on your order page, in one transaction, with a fee rate that fits the network.
Can I convert Bitcoin to Litecoin without KYC?
Yes. You need no account, email or ID for a BTC to LTC swap, so you swap anonymously. You give a Litecoin payout address, send the BTC, and follow the order by its ID. A new Litecoin address for the payout keeps the LTC apart from your older activity.
Can I paste my Bitcoin address to receive the LTC?
No. The LTC is paid on the Litecoin network, so it needs a Litecoin address. A bc1 address is not valid for it. A Bitcoin address that starts with 3 may pass the format check, but your Bitcoin wallet does not show Litecoin, so the coins would not appear there.
My Litecoin wallet shows the payout as confirming. Is that normal?
Yes. Litecoin Core shows a payment as confirming until it has 6 confirmations. A block comes about every 2.5 minutes on average, so that takes about 15 minutes. To check the payout sooner, open its transaction ID from your order page on a Litecoin block explorer.
Can I move the LTC into MWEB after the swap?
Yes. Receive it at a standard address first, because the swap form does not take MWEB addresses. Then move it in with a wallet that supports MWEB, such as Litecoin Core. Inside MWEB, only the sender and the receiver know the amounts, and MWEB balances do not show on the public chain.
Can I have the LTC paid to an exchange account?
Yes, if the exchange gives you a deposit address for native LTC on the Litecoin network. Some platforms also list an LTC token on another network, and that token is not the same coin. Litecoin has no memo or tag, so the address is all you need.
How long does a BTC to LTC swap take?
Most of the time goes to the Bitcoin deposit. A Bitcoin block comes every 10 minutes on average, and a low fee rate can make the first confirmation take much longer. Your order page shows when the Bitcoin deposit is confirmed and credited. The LTC payout then moves in blocks about 2.5 minutes apart.
