BTC to ETH: swap Bitcoin to Ethereum with no KYC
On , our floating quote for 0.01 BTC was 0.3087 ETH after a 0.00006 ETH payout fee.
Rate before the payout fee: 1 BTC ≈ 30.8736 ETH (our calculation from that quote).
No account and no ID to start. Some swaps are held for checks, and residents of some countries may be asked to verify. How screening works
Before you swap
Paste your 0x address exactly as your wallet shows it. The mix of capital letters is a checksum. The address needs no ETH before the payout arrives. Most of the wait is on the Bitcoin side, so pick a fee rate that fits the network when you send.

How to swap BTC to ETH
Enter an amount of at least 0.0000165 BTC and paste your ETH address on Ethereum.
Send the exact amount in one transaction from Bitcoin to the deposit address shown after you start.
Bitcoin adds a block about 10 minutes on average. Our partner decides how many confirmations to wait for, and the order page shows each step.
Your ETH is sent to your address.

Why people swap Bitcoin to Ethereum
What changes when BTC becomes ETH
Many people make this move to hold some ether next to their bitcoin, or to use apps that run on Ethereum. After the swap, the part you moved is ether. Its value follows ether from then on, not bitcoin. Our BTC to ETH figure shows how the two compared in our latest quote.
The payout joins an account balance on your 0x address. Our Ethereum (ETH) coin page explains how accounts, addresses and gas work there.
Check the payout address
A 0x address often mixes capital and small letters. That mix is a checksum defined in EIP-55, and the pattern of capitals carries it. So paste the address exactly as your wallet shows it. If you retype it in all small letters, the check is lost. Take the address from an Ethereum wallet whose keys you hold. It does not need any ETH yet, because the sender of a transaction pays its gas.
The slower chain comes first
In this direction, the slower chain is on the sending side. A new Bitcoin block comes every 10 minutes on average, but the gap is random, and your deposit needs blocks before our partner credits it. Ethereum keeps a steadier pace. It runs in 12-second slots with one block proposer each, and a slot goes empty only now and then, when its proposer is offline. Once the ETH is sent, it moves in much shorter steps.
That order matters for a floating quote. The ETH figure can keep moving through every Bitcoin block you wait for, so the result may differ from the first estimate. Your order page shows each step.
Until the ETH is sent, our liquidity partner controls the address that holds your BTC. A swap may also be paused for checks, and Risk and screening explains when that happens.
Sending BTC and receiving ETH
Sending BTC (Bitcoin)
Send native BTC on the Bitcoin network, in one transaction, to the deposit address of your order. Bitcoin payments cannot be reversed, so check the address before you confirm. The fee depends on the transaction size, not the amount.
- If the deposit is stuck, raise the fee with replace-by-fee if your wallet offers it, and keep the same deposit address and amount. CPFP works only if the stuck payment sent change back to your wallet. Do not send a second payment to the same order.
- Check the whole deposit address, not only the first and last characters. Copy it from your order page and compare it after you paste.
Receiving ETH (Ethereum)
Give an Ethereum address that you control. It starts with 0x and has 42 characters. ETH arrives on Ethereum mainnet only. Your wallet must show Ethereum mainnet to see it.
- Use a regular wallet address, never a token contract address. A transfer to a contract runs its code, so use a smart contract wallet only if it accepts plain ETH transfers.
- If the ETH does not show yet, switch your wallet to Ethereum mainnet. Then look up your address on a block explorer.
BTC to ETH questions
Why is my ETH address a mix of capital and small letters?
That mix is a checksum defined in EIP-55. The pattern of capitals carries the check, so wallet software that supports it can catch most typing mistakes. Paste the address exactly as your wallet shows it.
Does my Ethereum address need ETH before the payout arrives?
No. On Ethereum, the sender of a transaction pays its gas. The payout is sent by our partner, so an empty or brand new address can receive the ETH.
Why does the Ethereum side move so much faster than the Bitcoin side?
Bitcoin blocks arrive at random gaps that average 10 minutes, and your deposit needs several of them. Ethereum runs in 12-second slots, and most slots have a block. A slot goes empty only now and then, when its chosen validator is offline. So the wait for your BTC deposit is long, and the ETH payout then goes into a block quickly.
When is the ETH payout final?
Ethereum finalizes blocks through checkpoints, one per epoch of 32 slots. Validators holding at least two thirds of all staked ETH must vote across two checkpoints in a row before the earlier one becomes final. So your wallet can show the payout before it is final. The order page shows the status of your swap.
Can I reuse the deposit address for my next BTC to ETH swap?
No. Each deposit address belongs to one order only. For a new swap, start a new order and use the new deposit address it shows.
How does the BTC to ETH figure compare with an ETH/BTC chart?
An ETH/BTC chart shows the value of one ether in bitcoin. This page counts the other way, in ether per bitcoin, so one figure is roughly the inverse of the other. Ours is based on quotes we recorded and leaves out the payout fee.
