From Ethereum to BNB Smart Chain
ETH pays the gas for every transaction on Ethereum. BNB does the same job on BNB Smart Chain, a separate network that runs the same kind of smart contracts. Both networks use 0x addresses, and both charge gas in their own coin.
People make this swap to use BNB Smart Chain: to pay its gas, to use an app that runs there, or to hold BNB itself. A wallet with BEP-20 tokens but no BNB cannot move them, so BNB is often the first thing a new BNB Smart Chain address needs. This page does not tell you which coin to hold.
One address, two balances
An EVM wallet shows the same 0x address on Ethereum and on BNB Smart Chain. That makes the payout address easy: you can paste the address you already use. But the two balances are separate. The BNB arrives on BNB Smart Chain, so your wallet shows it only when it is switched to that network, chain ID 56. If it does not show, check the address on BscScan.
Two look-alikes are not this payout. A BNB token on Ethereum is a different asset that cannot pay gas on BNB Smart Chain. And addresses that start with bnb1 belong to BNB Beacon Chain, which stopped in November 2024, so the form refuses them.
Sending the ETH

A layer 2 network shows the same 0x address, but it is a separate network, and ETH sent there does not reach this deposit. Keep extra ETH for gas, which is paid on top of the amount. - Do not give an old BNB Beacon Chain address that starts with bnb1. That chain stopped in November 2024 and cannot receive this payout.
- If the BNB does not show yet, switch your wallet to BNB Smart Chain. Then look up your address on BscScan.
