Before you swap
Make a new address in your Solana wallet for the payout, so the SOL stays apart from your older activity on Solana's public ledger. Only unlocked XMR can go out, so wait if coins reached your Monero wallet in the last 10 blocks. Nothing is paid on Solana until the Monero deposit is credited.

Why people swap Monero to Solana
Why Monero holders move into SOL
People convert XMR to SOL when the app, wallet or person they deal with next is on Solana. Solana charges each transaction fee in SOL, so it is the first coin to hold on that network. The payout can also cover the fees of its own later transfers.
On Monero, the sender, the receiver and the amount stay hidden by default, as our Monero (XMR) coin page explains. Solana works the other way. It is a public ledger, and anyone can look up an address, its balance and its full history on an explorer, as our Solana (SOL) coin page notes. So the payout address is where your privacy on Solana starts.
Give the payout a new address
Make a new address in your Solana wallet and use it only for this swap. Then the payout does not join the history of an address that people already tie to you. That gap lasts only as long as you keep it. A later transfer from the new address to an older one links the two on the chain for good.
Paste the main wallet address, not a token account. The payout is native SOL on the Solana network, and it belongs in the wallet account itself.
Sending the XMR, and where the wait is
Coins that reached your Monero wallet in the last 10 blocks, about 20 minutes, are still locked. Wait until they unlock before you start. Your wallet broadcasts the deposit through a node. A remote node can see the IP address the transaction comes from, but not the receiver or the amount. Your own node, or a remote node reached over Tor or I2P, reduces that risk.
Most of the wait is on the Monero side. A block comes about every 2 minutes, and the deposit is credited only after enough of those blocks confirm it. During that wait, your Monero wallet already shows the XMR as sent. A Solana slot lasts about 300 milliseconds, so the payout lands soon after it is sent.
On a floating quote, the SOL amount can still change until your deposit confirms. For the trip back, see the Solana to Monero swap.
Sending XMR and receiving SOL
Sending XMR (Monero)
Send XMR from your Monero wallet to the deposit address of your order, in one transaction. Your wallet must be fully synced and have enough unlocked balance. A Monero transaction cannot be reversed once it is in a block, so check the address first.
- Keep a little extra XMR for the network fee. The sender pays it. It depends on the size of the transaction and on network congestion, not on the amount.
- Keep the transaction ID. Your wallet can also show the transaction key. The ID, the key and the deposit address together prove the payment.
Receiving SOL (Solana)
Give the main address of a Solana wallet that you control. It is 32 to 44 characters long in base58 and has no fixed prefix. Native SOL is sent on the Solana network to that address after your deposit is credited.
- If your address is new and empty, the first transfer into it must meet the network's minimum balance for an account. This is a Solana rule, not a HiddenSwap fee.
- If the SOL does not show yet, open the payout transaction from your order page on a Solana explorer. If it shows as finalized, refresh your wallet.
XMR to SOL questions
Questions about Monero itself, such as legality and delistings, are answered in our Monero (XMR) coin guide
How do I convert XMR to SOL?
Choose XMR as the coin you send and SOL as the coin you get. Paste the address of a Solana wallet you control. Then send the XMR in one transaction to the deposit address of your order. The order page tracks each step until the SOL is sent.
Can I send Monero straight to a Solana address?
No. Monero and Solana are separate blockchains, and a Monero wallet can only pay Monero addresses. A Monero address starts with 4 or 8 and usually has 95 characters. A Solana address has 32 to 44 base58 characters and no fixed prefix. Your XMR goes to the deposit address of the order, and the SOL comes out on Solana.
Can I convert Monero to Solana with no KYC?
Yes. The swap starts with no account, no email and no ID. You give a Solana address you control, then send the XMR. You swap anonymously, and swap records keep no name and no IP address.
How do I keep the SOL payout apart from my other activity?
Give a new Solana address. Solana is a public ledger, so an explorer shows each address with its balance and transfers. A new address keeps the payout apart from your older activity, as long as you do not later move the SOL to an address people link to you.
Should I give my wallet address or a token account address?
Your main wallet address. The payout is native SOL, and it belongs in the wallet account itself. SOL sent to a token account, a mint or a program address can only be moved by the program that owns that account, so it may be lost.
How long does an XMR to SOL swap take?
Most of the time goes to the Monero deposit. A Monero block comes about every 2 minutes, and the deposit is credited once it has enough confirmations. The Solana payout itself is quick, because a slot lasts about 300 milliseconds. XMR that reached your wallet less than 10 blocks ago is still locked and cannot be sent yet.
Can a remote node see my XMR deposit?
It can see the IP address your transaction comes from, but not the receiver or the amount. Your wallet has to send the deposit through some node. Running your own node, or reaching a remote node over Tor or I2P, reduces this risk.
