Before you swap
Paste a Tron address that starts with T for the payout. Your Solana address cannot receive it. Send native SOL on the Solana network, and either send your whole balance or leave the account minimum behind. Once sent, the SOL waits at the deposit address of your order, outside your control, until the USDT goes out.

Why people swap Solana to Tether on Tron
From a SOL balance to a dollar token
SOL moves with the market. USDT is a token that Tether issues and pegs to the US dollar. People turn SOL into USDT when they want a balance that keeps a dollar value without leaving crypto, or when the person or app they deal with next asks for USDT on Tron. This page does not tell you when to make that move.
Your Solana wallet may already list a USDT balance. That one is a token on Solana, kept in a token account. This swap pays something else: USDT on the Tron network, sent to a Tron address. A Tron address starts with T and has 34 characters. A Solana address has no fixed prefix, and it cannot receive this payout. Some wallets hold both chains and give you a separate Tron address for it. Our guide to USDT networks compares TRC-20 with ERC-20.
Getting the SOL out cleanly
The deposit must be native SOL on the Solana network. Wrapped SOL is a separate token balance, so unwrap it first. Staked SOL sits in a stake account, and its deactivation takes several epochs before you can withdraw it to your wallet.
One Solana rule catches people who want to swap a whole wallet. Every account must keep a minimum balance, and a send that would leave less than that minimum, but more than zero, fails. So send everything, or leave at least the minimum behind. Solana began lowering this minimum in September 2026, and our Solana (SOL) coin page explains how it works.
A signed Solana transaction also expires if the network does not process it in time. If your wallet reports an error, look up your address on a Solana explorer before you sign again, so you do not pay the deposit twice.
Fees change coin on the Tron side
On Solana, SOL pays every fee, token transfers included. On Tron, the USDT moves with energy and bandwidth, which come from staked TRX or from TRX the network burns. You need no TRX to receive the payout. You will need some before you move the USDT on, and a new Tron address only becomes active once it receives TRX. Leftover SOL cannot help there.
USDT also brings an issuer. Tether can freeze tokens and blacklist addresses, as our Tether (USDT) coin page explains. From your deposit until the USDT is sent, the SOL is at the deposit address of your order, not in your wallet. On a floating quote, the USDT amount follows the SOL price until your deposit confirms. If the swap cannot finish, SOL goes back to the address it came from. The way back is USDT (TRC-20) to SOL.
Sending SOL and receiving USDT (TRC-20)
Sending SOL (Solana)
Send native SOL on the Solana network to the deposit address of your order. Copy and paste the address. Solana addresses have no checksum, so a typo can still look like a valid address. Keep a little extra SOL for the network fee.
- Send native SOL. Wrapped SOL is a separate SPL token balance, so unwrap it in your wallet first.
- Your account must keep a minimum balance. A send that would leave less than that minimum, but more than zero, fails. Keep the minimum, or send your whole balance.
Receiving USDT (TRC-20)
You receive USDT (TRC-20) at a Tron address that starts with T. Use an address from a wallet that shows Tron tokens. Tron transfers have no memo field, so none is needed. The sender pays the transfer cost, so you need no TRX to receive USDT. You will need TRX to send it later.
- Give a Tron address that you control. Check that it starts with T and has 34 characters.
- Add some TRX to the receiving address if you plan to move the USDT later. A new Tron address becomes active when it receives TRX or a TRC-10 token. USDT is a TRC-20 token, so send TRX to the address as well.
SOL to USDT (TRC-20) questions
How do I swap SOL to USDT on Tron?
Choose SOL as the coin you send and USDT (TRC-20) as the coin you get. Paste a Tron address that starts with T for the payout, and the Solana address you send from. Then send native SOL on the Solana network to the deposit address on your order page, in one transfer.
Can I get the USDT at my Solana address?
No. The payout is sent on Tron, and only a Tron address can receive it. Your Solana wallet may also list USDT on Solana, but that is a separate token on another network, and this swap does not pay it. A wallet that supports both chains shows you a separate Tron address for this.

Can I swap my whole SOL balance?
Yes, if you really send all of it. Every Solana account must keep a minimum balance, and a send that would leave more than zero but less than that minimum fails. So send everything, or leave at least the minimum behind. On a fixed quote, send exactly the amount shown.
My SOL is staked. Can I swap it to USDT?
Not directly. Staked SOL sits in a stake account. Deactivate the stake, wait until deactivation finishes, which takes several epochs, and withdraw the SOL to your wallet. Then send that plain SOL. Wrapped SOL is a token balance, so unwrap it first.
My wallet says the SOL transaction expired. Did the SOL leave?
A Solana transaction expires if the network does not process it in time, and an expired transaction moves nothing. Open your address on a Solana explorer before you sign a new one. That way you do not send the deposit twice.
Do I need TRX to receive the USDT?
No. The sender pays for the payout, so the USDT arrives without any TRX. You need TRX later to move it, because Tron charges token transfers in energy and bandwidth. Your SOL cannot pay for that. A new Tron address also becomes active only when it receives TRX or a TRC-10 token, and the USDT does not do that.
How long does a SOL to USDT swap take?
Both chains are quick. Solana starts a new slot about every 300 milliseconds, and your deposit is credited once it has enough confirmations. The USDT then goes out on Tron, where a block comes about every 3 seconds and is final after about a minute. Your order page shows each step.
What do I get back if the swap cannot finish?
SOL, not USDT. It goes back to the Solana address the SOL came from.
