HiddenSwap is our own service. We list it first; the rest are listed in no particular order and we make no money from them.

What FixedFloat is

FixedFloat is a crypto swap service, named after its two rate types. You pick the coins, give the address for your new coins and send your deposit. It needs no registration. A fixed rate stays the same while its timer runs; a floating rate follows the market until your deposit confirms. If a deposit arrives late or the market moves too far, the order page lets you continue at the market rate or take a refund minus the network fee. It also swaps from Bitcoin Lightning, which few swap services offer.

Why people look for an alternative

  • The 2024 thefts. On 18 February 2024 attackers took about 26 million US dollars in BTC and ETH from FixedFloat’s wallets, and on 1 April 2024 about 2.8 million more. Customer swaps were delayed while it happened. Some people moved on after that, or now split larger swaps across services.
  • Refunds and extra questions. kycnot.me, a directory of services without mandatory ID, rates FixedFloat level 3 of 4 and notes that a refund may need ID. Every swap service can pause a swap, so read the refund terms of any service you pick, not only this one.
  • One set of rules you already know. Some people just prefer a service they have used before, with support that answers in a chat.
  • No company in the trade. Peer-to-peer apps and atomic swaps take the swap company out entirely.

The alternatives in short

HiddenSwap. A single swap service for crypto-to-crypto swaps, Monero first, with no account, email or ID. The amount you see already includes every fee, and you follow the swap with an order ID. The honest trade-offs: your coins pass through the service during the swap, a swap can be stopped and refunded instead of finished, and fixed rates are offered only on pairs that support them at that moment. We do not take Lightning deposits today.

SideShift. No sign-up, though it makes an account ID and key in your browser. Fixed-rate shifts expire if you do not send in time; variable-rate shifts set the rate once your deposit is seen. It is not open to people in the United States on its main site, and runs a separate US site that leaves out a few states.

Exolix. Swaps without registration, with a fixed rate held for a set time or a floating rate. Its FAQ says a swap stopped by an error in its own system is refunded in full.

Godex. No account. A fixed rate is locked for a set time from the start of the swap. Refund requests must come within 90 days.

StealthEX. No registration. A padlock icon switches the form between floating and fixed. A sharp rate move makes the swap fail, and support agrees a new rate or a refund with you.

SimpleSwap. No registration. Fixed rates run on a timer and have upper limits. Floating rates have no strict time limit.

Trocador. An aggregator: it shows quotes from several swap services and rates their privacy terms, and the exchange you pick runs the swap. It has an onion site. Our Trocador alternatives page covers it in detail.

Haveno and Bisq. Peer-to-peer apps that run over Tor on your own computer. Haveno is built on Monero with a 2-of-3 multisig; RetoSwap, a network that runs it, suspended trading after exploits in 2026, so check its own channels first. Bisq locks a BTC deposit from both traders until the trade ends.

Atomic swaps. eigenwallet swaps BTC to XMR, and BasicSwap DEX covers more coins. If a swap does not complete, a timelock lets each side take its coins back.

How to pick

  • You used FixedFloat for fixed rates? Most swap services above offer them. Send the exact amount before the timer ends.
  • You used it for Lightning? Check each service’s coin list for BTC Lightning before you start, since most take on-chain BTC only.
  • You want to spread risk? Split a large swap across two services, and keep a refund address from your own wallet on each.
  • You want no company in the trade? Use Bisq, a Haveno network or an atomic swap tool, and plan for more setup.

Whatever you choose, check the domain before you send and start with a small amount. Our overview of the best no-KYC Monero exchanges covers the same services from the Monero side.

Swapping on HiddenSwap

Open the Bitcoin to Monero exchange or the Monero to Bitcoin exchange, paste the address for your new coins and a refund address, then send the exact amount in one transaction. You get an order ID, not an account. Our guide on how to swap BTC to XMR with no KYC walks through every step, and the Monero (XMR) exchange page lists every Monero route we cover.

Quick answers

What is a good alternative to FixedFloat? Another single swap service if you like the same flow, or a P2P app or atomic swap if you want no company in the trade.

Was FixedFloat hacked? Yes. It lost about 26 million US dollars in February 2024 and about 2.8 million in April 2024, according to news reports at the time.

Do the alternatives offer fixed rates? Most swap services here do. P2P apps use the price in each offer, and atomic swaps use the price agreed with the other side.

FixedFloat vs HiddenSwap: what is the difference? Both are single swap services with no account. FixedFloat takes Lightning deposits; HiddenSwap puts Monero first and shows the amount you get with every fee already included.

Do these alternatives need an account? No. Swap services give you an order ID, and P2P and atomic swap apps run on your own computer.
