HiddenSwap is our own service. We list it first; the rest are listed in no particular order and we make no money from them.
What Trocador is
Trocador is a crypto swap aggregator. You enter the coins and the amount, and it shows quotes from several swap services side by side. You pick one, and that exchange runs your swap. Trocador gives each exchange a privacy rating, based on its terms, its privacy policy and its past record on Trocador. It needs no account and has an onion site.
Because another exchange runs the swap, a problem is sorted out with that exchange. Trocador says a refund can take a week or longer for this reason. It explains that a floating quote is an estimate: the exchange checks the market again when your deposit confirms, and some exchanges then ask whether you want the new rate or a refund.
Trocador also runs AnonPay, a tool for payment links and donation buttons. The person paying can send many coins, and the receiver gets the coin they chose.
Why people look for an alternative
People who like Trocador still look around. The usual reasons are practical:
- One service instead of many. With an aggregator, the service that holds your deposit changes from swap to swap. Some people prefer to learn one set of rules and one support desk.
- A fixed rate. Trocador’s own guide recommends floating rates for most swaps. If you need an exact amount to arrive, you may want a service built around fixed rates.
- A different interface. Some sites are simpler on a phone, or work without JavaScript.
- Onion access. Some people only use services with an onion site, and check that first.
- No company in the trade. Peer-to-peer apps and atomic swaps take the swap company out entirely.
Trocador alternatives compared
| Alternative | Type | Account | Onion or Tor | Fixed rate | If a swap cannot finish |

| FixedFloat | Single swap service | None | Not stated | Yes | Continue at the market rate, or a refund minus the network fee |
| SideShift | Single swap service | No sign-up. An account ID is made in your browser | Not stated | Yes | Refund to your refund address, asked for on the order page if missing |
| Exolix | Swap service (calls itself an aggregator) | None | Not stated | Yes | Full refund when its own system error stops the swap |
| Godex | Single swap service | None | Not stated | Yes | Refund when the order shows “Overdue”, within 90 days |
| StealthEX | Single swap service | None | Not stated | Yes | After a sharp rate move, a new rate or a refund agreed with support |
| SimpleSwap | Single swap service | None | Not stated | Yes | A late fixed-rate deposit gets a refund or a new rate |
| Haveno (RetoSwap) | P2P app | None. You run the app | Runs over Tor | The offer’s price | Arbitrator in a dispute. Funds in a 2-of-3 multisig |
| Bisq | P2P app | None. You run the app | Runs over Tor | The offer’s price | Chat, mediation, then arbitration. BTC deposits on both sides |
| eigenwallet, BasicSwap | Atomic swap | None | eigenwallet runs over Tor | Not stated | Timelock returns your coins |
Rates, fees and minimums are left out on purpose. They change all the time, and each service shows them before you send.
The alternatives in short
HiddenSwap. A single swap service for crypto-to-crypto swaps, Monero first, with no account, email or ID. You deal with one set of terms and one support desk, reached by order ID. The honest trade-offs: your coins pass through the service during the swap, a swap can be stopped and refunded instead of finished, and a floating quote can move before your deposit confirms. Fixed rates are offered only on pairs that support them at that moment.
FixedFloat. A swap service named after its two rate types. If a deposit is late or the market moves too far, the order page gives you the choice to continue at the market rate or take a refund. It also swaps from Bitcoin Lightning to XMR.
SideShift. No sign-up, though it makes an account ID and key in your browser. Fixed-rate shifts expire if you do not send in time. Variable-rate shifts set the rate once your deposit is seen.
Exolix. Swaps without registration, with a fixed rate held for a set time or a floating rate. Its FAQ says a swap stopped by an error in its own system is refunded in full.
Godex. No account. A fixed rate is locked for a set time from the start of the swap. Refund requests must come within 90 days.
StealthEX. No registration. A padlock icon switches the form between floating and fixed. A sharp rate move makes the swap fail, and support agrees a new rate or a refund with you.
SimpleSwap. No registration. Fixed rates run on a timer and have upper limits. Floating rates have no strict time limit.
Haveno and RetoSwap. Open-source P2P trading built on Monero and Tor, using a 2-of-3 multisig with an arbitrator for disputes. RetoSwap, a network that runs Haveno, suspended trading after exploits in May and June 2026. Check its own channels for its current state.
Bisq. A desktop P2P app with no registration and no central server, running over Tor. Both traders lock a BTC deposit until the trade ends, and disputes go through chat, then mediation, then arbitration.
Atomic swaps. eigenwallet (formerly UnstoppableSwap) swaps BTC to XMR only, for now. BasicSwap DEX is open-source atomic swap software with a decentralized order book. If a swap does not complete, a timelock lets each side take its coins back.
How to pick
- Want a single service instead of an aggregator? Choose a swap service whose terms and refund page you have read. You will deal with the same rules every time.
- Need an exact amount to arrive? Use a fixed rate, and send the exact amount before the timer ends. A late or different deposit gets a refund or a new rate on most services.
- Want no company in the trade? Use Bisq, a Haveno network or an atomic swap tool. Plan for more setup and a longer wait.
- Care most about Tor? Look for an onion site on the service’s own pages, or use a P2P or atomic swap app that runs over Tor.
Whatever you choose, give a refund address from your own wallet, check the domain before you send, and start with a small amount. Our overview of the best no-KYC Monero exchanges covers the same services from the Monero side, and our FixedFloat alternatives and SideShift alternatives pages start from those two services.
Swapping BTC to XMR on HiddenSwap
Open the Bitcoin to Monero exchange, paste a new subaddress from your Monero wallet and a Bitcoin refund address, then send the exact amount in one transaction. You get an order ID, not an account. Our guide on how to swap BTC to XMR with no KYC walks through every step. The Monero (XMR) exchange page lists every Monero route we cover, and our Monero delisting tracker shows which exchanges have dropped XMR and when.
Quick answers
What is a good alternative to Trocador? It depends on why you are leaving. For one set of rules, use a single swap service. For no company in the trade, use a P2P app or an atomic swap.
Is Trocador an exchange? No. It is an aggregator. It shows quotes, and the exchange you pick runs the swap.
Which alternatives have an onion site? Among the swap services here, we could not confirm an onion site on their own pages, so the table says “not stated”. Bisq, Haveno and eigenwallet run over Tor by design.
Trocador vs HiddenSwap: what is the difference? Trocador shows many exchanges and routes you to one. HiddenSwap is one swap service with its own terms and support.
Do these alternatives need an account? No. Swap services give you an order ID, and P2P and atomic swap apps run on your own computer.
