Before you swap
Sending USDT on Tron already needs TRX or energy in the sending address. If your wallet holds USDT but no TRX, start the swap from an exchange withdrawal instead. The TRX goes to a T address you control. Until it is sent, the USDT waits at the deposit address of your order.

Why people swap Tether on Tron to Tron
Why people swap USDT for TRX
USDT on Tron is a token that Tether pegs to the US dollar. TRX is the native coin of Tron, and it pays for everything the network does. Every USDT transfer calls the USDT contract, and that uses energy. Energy has no free allowance. You get it by staking TRX, or another account delegates it to you. Otherwise the network burns TRX from the sending address.
So people swap part of their USDT to TRX to pay for later transfers, to stake TRX for energy, or to hold TRX itself. This page does not tell you which coin to hold.
The catch: sending USDT also needs TRX
This swap does not rescue USDT that is stuck in a wallet with no TRX. Sending the deposit is a USDT transfer like any other, so that wallet cannot pay for it either. There are two ways around this. If your USDT is on an exchange account, the exchange pays the network cost of its withdrawal, but the swap form asks for the address you send from, so withdraw to your own wallet first. Or have someone send a little TRX or delegate energy to your address before you send.
The energy a USDT transfer needs is not fixed. Under Tron’s dynamic energy model, a busy contract can cost more energy per call, so check your wallet’s estimate right before you send. Our Tether (USDT) coin page explains how Tron charges for token transfers.
Getting the TRX
The payout is native TRX on Tron at a T address you control. It is not a TRX token on BNB Smart Chain, so a 0x address cannot receive it. You can use the same address that holds your USDT, so the TRX pays for its next transfers. A new address works too, because the payout itself activates it, but both transfers are public on Tron.
Between the deposit and the payout, your USDT is no longer in your wallet. It waits at the deposit address of your order until the TRX is sent. On a floating quote, the TRX amount is set only once your deposit confirms. If a swap cannot finish, the refund is USDT on Tron, and it goes to the Tron address the USDT came from. The way back is TRX to USDT (TRC-20).
Sending USDT (TRC-20) and receiving TRX
Sending USDT (TRC-20)
Send USDT on the Tron network only. Your wallet or exchange must show Tron or TRC-20 as the network. The sending address also needs TRX, because Tron charges for token transfers in energy and bandwidth, not in USDT.
- Keep some TRX in the sending address. A USDT transfer uses energy, and energy has no free quota. Without energy or TRX to burn, the transfer cannot be paid.
- If your coins are on an exchange account, withdraw to your own wallet first and send from there. The swap form needs the address you send from, and an exchange's address is not yours.
Receiving TRX (Tron)
You receive TRX at a Tron address that starts with T and has 34 characters. Use an address from a wallet you control. The payout also activates a new Tron address, so you can use one with no history.
- Do not give an address that starts with 0x. It belongs to Ethereum or another EVM network and cannot receive native TRX.
- A new Tron address becomes active when it first receives TRX. The sender pays the small account creation fee, so the payout itself activates it.
USDT (TRC-20) to TRX questions
How do I swap USDT to TRX?
Choose USDT (TRC-20) as the coin you send and TRX as the coin you get. Enter the Tron address that should get the TRX and the Tron address you send from. Then send the USDT on the Tron network to the deposit address on your order page, in one transfer. The TRX is sent once your deposit is credited.
Can I swap USDT to TRX without KYC?
Yes. You can start this swap with no account, no email and no ID. With no profile to sign in to, the link to your order page is how you get back to your swap, so save it when the order opens.
My wallet has USDT but no TRX. Can I still send the USDT here?
Not from that wallet. A USDT transfer on Tron uses energy, and without TRX or delegated energy the network cannot charge for it. Withdraw USDT from an exchange account instead, because the exchange pays the network cost. Or ask someone to send a little TRX or delegate energy to your address first.
Can the TRX go to the same address that sends the USDT?
Yes. The payout then sits next to the rest of your USDT and pays for its next transfers. Both transfers are public on Tron, so this links them. For a new address, the payout itself activates it.
How much TRX do I need for one USDT transfer?
It is not a fixed amount. Tron charges energy for each contract call, and under its dynamic energy model a busy contract such as USDT can cost more energy per call. Check the estimate your wallet shows just before you send, and keep a margin above it.
Is the payout native TRX or a token?
Native TRX on the Tron network, at a T address. It is not a TRX token on BNB Smart Chain, and an address that starts with 0x cannot receive it.
How long does a USDT to TRX swap take?
Both sides are on Tron. A Tron block comes about every 3 seconds, and a block is final after about a minute. Your deposit is credited once it has enough confirmations, and the TRX goes out after that. Your order page shows each step.
Is the TRX amount fixed when I start the order?
Only on a fixed quote, and only for the exact amount shown, sent before the deadline on your order page. On a floating quote, the TRX amount follows the market until your deposit confirms. The payout fee in TRX is shown before you swap.
