Before you swap
USDC payouts are public on Ethereum, so give a 0x address with no past activity to keep the payout apart from your older transfers. That address needs ETH before the USDC can move. Keep your order ID: a Monero deposit shows no sender, so a refund needs a refund address you give support.

Why people swap Monero to USD Coin on Ethereum
From Monero to a dollar token on Ethereum
Monero has no issuer, and its price moves with the market. USDC is a token that Circle issues on Ethereum and pegs to the US dollar. People make this swap to lock part of their XMR at a steady dollar value, or because an app or person they pay next asks for USDC. This page does not tell you which one to hold.
Two things change when you make the move. Under its USDC terms, Circle can block an address and freeze the USDC held there. And Ethereum is a public chain: anyone can see the payout, the address it went to and every later transfer from that address. If you would rather hold USDT on Tron, see XMR to USDT (TRC-20).
Sending the XMR
Send XMR from a fully synced Monero wallet, in one transaction, to the deposit address on your order page. Only unlocked XMR can be sent, so coins you received in the last 10 blocks have to wait. The network fee comes on top of the amount, or out of the balance if you use Send all. Keep the transaction ID your wallet shows until the USDC arrives.
A Monero payment does not show where it came from. If a swap cannot finish, the refund needs an address from you: write to support with your order ID and a refund address from your own Monero wallet. Our Monero (XMR) coin page explains how its privacy works.
The Ethereum address you give
Paste a 0x address from a wallet you control, with Ethereum mainnet selected. A new address with no past activity keeps the payout apart from your older transfers. It needs one more step, because moving the USDC later costs gas in ETH. Send that ETH from an address that is not linked to you, or the chain links the two.
If the USDC shows on Etherscan but not in your wallet, add the token with the contract Circle lists for Ethereum.
Between the deposit and the payout, your XMR is no longer in your wallet. It waits at the deposit address of your order until the USDC is sent. On a floating quote, the USDC amount is set only once your deposit confirms. The way back is USDC (ERC-20) to XMR.
Sending XMR and receiving USDC (ERC-20)
Sending XMR (Monero)
Send XMR from your Monero wallet to the deposit address of your order, in one transaction. Your wallet must be fully synced and have enough unlocked balance. A Monero transaction cannot be reversed once it is in a block, so check the address first.
- Only unlocked XMR can be sent. XMR you received less than 10 blocks ago is still locked. That is about 20 minutes.
- The receiver of a Monero payment cannot see the address it came from. A refund needs an address from you: if one is needed, write to support with your order ID and a refund address you control.
Receiving USDC (ERC-20)
You receive USDC at an Ethereum address that starts with 0x and has 42 characters. It arrives as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum mainnet. You need no ETH to receive it, but you will need ETH to send it later.
- Paste the full 0x address from a wallet you control, with Ethereum mainnet selected.
- If the payout shows on Etherscan but not in your wallet, add USDC to the token list with the contract Circle publishes.
XMR to USDC (ERC-20) questions
Questions about Monero itself, such as legality and delistings, are answered in our Monero (XMR) coin guide
How do I swap XMR to USDC?
Choose XMR as the coin you send and USDC (ERC-20) as the coin you get. Paste the 0x address that should get the USDC. Then send XMR from your Monero wallet to the deposit address on your order page, in one transaction. The USDC is sent once your deposit is credited.
Can I swap XMR to USDC without KYC?
Yes. You can start this swap with no account, no email and no ID, and swap records keep no name and no IP address. Your XMR deposit shows no sender and no amount on the Monero chain. The USDC then lands on Ethereum, a public chain.

Why use a new Ethereum address for the payout?
Every transfer on Ethereum is public. A new address keeps the payout apart from transfers already linked to you. It needs one more step: moving the USDC later costs gas in ETH. Send that ETH from an address that is not linked to you, so the chain keeps the two apart.
USDC or USDT: which one should I pick?
Both are tokens pegged to the US dollar. Circle issues USDC and Tether issues USDT, and each can freeze its token at an address. Pick the one the wallet, app or person you deal with next accepts, on the network they use.

How does an XMR refund reach me?
A Monero payment does not show the address it came from, so no return address can be read from your deposit. If the swap cannot finish, write to support with your order ID and a refund address from your own Monero wallet.
If I use Send all, who pays the Monero network fee?
The fee comes out of the balance you send, so the deposit is that balance minus the fee. A fixed quote expects the exact amount shown, so plan for the fee or choose a floating quote.
The USDC is on Etherscan but not in my wallet. Why?
Your wallet may not list the token yet, or it may be set to another network. Switch it to Ethereum mainnet and add USDC with the contract Circle publishes, 0xA0b86991c6218b36c1d19D4a2e9Eb0cE3606eB48.
Is the USDC amount fixed when I start the order?
Only on a fixed quote, and only for the exact amount shown, sent before the deadline on your order page. On a floating quote, the USDC amount follows the market until your deposit confirms. The payout fee in USDC is shown before you swap.
